Libertad O Muerte About
Libertad O Muerte is a band born in the Buceo neighborhood (Montevideo) that mixes melodic Death metal with other subgenres of Heavy Metal, Hardcore and other styles such as Tango and folklore, with lyrics in Spanish.
After debuting in November 2013, they performed live several times in Montevideo and the interior, adding their first international show as supports for the Swedish band Entombed.
In July 2014 they recorded the songs that will be part of their first album in just one day with the band playing live at the MVD Records studio with Pablo So Señora at the controls. At the end of that year and as a preview, they released their first video clip with the theme “El Nuevo Héroe”, filmed during a live presentation of the band in the city of Pando (Uruguay) and with the edition of Martín Nuñez.
In 2015 they independently released their first album entitled "Karma Error", a material that was very well received by the local public and that began to make the band known abroad. That same year and after winning the contest Metal Battle, embark on their first tour abroad and perform at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, continuing with the tour in the cities of Växjö and Stockholm in Sweden.
The band begins 2016 by winning the award for “Revelation Band” and “Best National Drummer” of the radio program El Lado Oscuro of Radio Futura FM (Uruguay) by the vote of the listeners and returns to appear in an international show in Montevideo opening for the Soulfly band. In the middle of that year they began to record their second album at Estudio AURAL together with Pablo Soiza and, meanwhile, the presentations continued in the capital and the interior of Uruguay.
“En Carne Viva” is the title of his second work, also published independently and has 10 new songs that show a more melodic and intense facet, with the participation of Hugo Fattoruso in the song that gives its name to the album and the members of the Swedish band Something Dead on the song “Parientes”.
The band closes 2016 presenting “En Carne Viva” reproducing for the first time and in full its 10 songs in the theater of the Tractatus Cultural Center.
